Traveling to Cincinnati

Cincinnati is served by an international airport with connections through major U.S. and European hubs. The travel itself is manageable — what needs care is the planning around a child’s medical needs and an appointment schedule.

Getting here

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is the region’s main airport, roughly 20–30 minutes by car from central Cincinnati. Many international routes connect through hubs such as Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Amsterdam, or Paris. Some families also use other regional airports when routes or fares are better — we help compare realistically.

Flying with a child with medical needs

Three things to arrange before flying:

  • Ask your child’s treating physician about fitness to fly and any precautions
  • Notify the airline in advance about medical equipment, medications, or assistance needs
  • Carry key medical documents and medications in hand luggage, never checked bags

Arriving in the U.S.

At the border, officers may ask about the purpose of your visit. Answer plainly and have your hospital letter and documents reachable. Entry decisions belong to border officers; organized documents make the conversation easier.
